Rheumatoid arthritis is a well-known, so far incurable and very annoying disease. While it is not lethal, the fact that it attacks not only joints, but also some internal organs makes it much more dangerous than any other form or arthritis. What is even worse, this arthritis always affect both sides of the body. While normally people may suffer from pain in only a single joint at the time, rheumatoid arthritis cause inflammation in the same joints in the both sides of the body simultaneously. For example, if this arthritis attacks knees, it will cause the inflammation at the both knees at the same time. As the result, most areas of life that are related with movement or physical activities are seriously affected by the disease.

Currently, there is no way to cure rheumatoid arthritis. Fortunately, there are a few ways to help those who suffer from this disease. From medications that slow down the progress of the disease and get rid of pain to small changes in one’s lifestyle - there are still hundreds of things one can do to make the life a bit easier.

The first thing you can do is, of course, some physical activity like swimming, jogging or other similar sports such as tennis. Ask your doctor about the specific exercises that could be the most beneficial in your situation. Basically, rheumatoid arthritis is much less dangerous if you keep your muscles and joints in top condition. Do not put too much stress on your joints though - learn how to bend properly, avoid lifting heavy weighs and make sure that your joints do not work too much - you have to keep them moving, though.

Pain, especially at night, and sleeplessness that may accompany it, are two most dangerous direct effects of rheumatoid arthritis. If one does nothing about it, the pain will cause severe stress and lower the natural resistance of the body, making it more prone to other diseases, as well as increase the pace of arthritis progress. That’s why it is imperative to get rid of the pain and ensure that one can sleep undisturbed. As arthritis persists, sleeping pills have to be taken under the strict control of the doctor and painkillers should be avoided whenever possible. Heat and cold will have also a strong calming effect on the joint’s pain with no dangerous long-term side effects painkillers have.

As for the diet, a recent research report published in the Journal of Rheumatology points that Omega-3 fatty acids (as well as other fish oil acids) have strong effects on rheumatoid arthritis, reducing the pain and having some mild anti-inflammatory effect. Adding Omega Daily, a food supplement containing Omega-3 acids, might be a good idea indeed, though adding a decent amount of tuna, herring or salmon to your diet may have a similarly good result.

Osteoarthritis affects almost an eighth of population and is certainly the most popular form of arthritis. Most of us will sooner or later suffer from it. This form of arthritis attacks the cartilage, causing pain and preventing joints from moving.

Osteoarthritis, just as all other forms of arthritis, can’t be cured. Fortunately for those affected, it can be now kept in check and prevented, provided that you take the right steps before the situation aggravates.

First of course, contact your doctor. However, you can do much more than just taking pills. The most important thing you can do is to do exercises. First, you have to keep your joints moving if you want to strengthen them and reduce the cartilage loss. The best idea is usually to employ some aerobic-like exercise system or swimming. Weigh lifting may also be a good idea, but do not overdo it - your aim is to strengthen your joints, not to endanger them. Then, you need to reduce the stress put on joints and being overweight is the main reason of joints’ overbear. That’s why working on your diet a bit may also be in order.

The most common method of relieving pain is to use extremely high or low temperatures on the body. Hot baths are common methods of ensuring that the blood circulation will speed up, easing the pain, while cold water or ice applied on the sore joints will actually reduce the pain.

Over-the-counter pain killers such as Acetaminophen are also an acceptable solution for those who do not want to ask their doctors for some prescription drugs. If it doesn’t help though, contact your doctor immediately and ask for some stronger drugs. Just remember to learn about the side-effects - as you are going to take the pills for a long time, you’d better be prepared for all possible problems.

The second best thing that slows down the osteoarthritis is Omega-3 fatty acids. They are second only to frequent exercises. The only problem is that these nutrients are naturally found only in a few kinds of fish and in flax, making it very difficult to compose a healthy and varied diet capable of providing enough Omega-3 fatty acids. While Mediterraneans are generally able to get enough seafood to do it, North Americans most often rely on Omega Daily and other similar supplements to get enough Omega-3 fatty acids to lessen the impact of arthritis on their lives.

The bottom line is: if you have osteoarthritis, stay healthy. Overweight, lack of exercises and bad diet will only speed up the pace of arthritis. Staying fit and keeping your joints safe are two most important things you have to do.

The most popular reasons of osteoarthritis include genetics, overweight, overburden some particular joint or a joint injury (even years ago) - all of that increases a chance of suffering from osteoarthritis. That’s why two most endangered groups of people are those grossly overweight and… professional sportsmen!

The mechanism or osteoarthritis is very simple: the condition is really caused by wearing off the cartilage in the joints. Then, the bones to rub each other while the joint moves, which causes terrible pain, stiffness and finally inability to move the joint. Osteoarthritis is very common - over 21 million people in the U.S. suffer from it. While this arthritis affects mostly those over forty-five years old, it can happen to anyone, regardless of age.

Fortunately, there are loads of things you may do stave off the onset of the disease. First and foremost, you have to keep yourself at top condition. Strong muscles will reduce the rate the cartilage wears off and reducing one’s weight means that there will be even less stress for the joints. Dieting, exercising and consulting with your doctor regularly is generally all you need to prevent arthritis. Just make sure you’re not overdoing it. Too strict diet may cause your organism to weaken and actually cause muscle loss and overexerting yourself may result in damaging your joints rather than helping them. What is also important, remember to protect your joints while exercising. Wrist guards will for example, greatly reduce the risk of wrist injuries while exercising. Ask a doctor if your diet and exercises routine are safe before you start them!

Another important thing is assuring that the diet contains enough Omega-3 fatty acids to reduce the soreness of the joints. Renowned for their anti-inflammatory effects, Omega-3 fatty acids are must-be in the diet of every osteoarthritis’ victim. The acids are commonly found in salmon and herring, but as a normal American diet does not contain enough of those fish, most doctors encourage their patients to take Omega Daily of other food supplements which provide enough Omega-3 fatty acids to reduce the severity of osteoarthritis.

Remember that osteoarthritis can cause only mild problems - but only in case you detect it early and start the treatment soon after. If you feel pain the joint(s) and they can’t move as easily as they used to be, contact your doctor ASAP.

Kombucha tea is an amazing brew that you can purchase or make at home. Back in the Chinese Empire of 200 BC Kombucha was known as the Elixir of Long Life.

Documented for over two thousand years, the name Kombucha originates in Korea. A medicine man named Kombu treated the emperor with what is known know as Kombucha tea. Over the centuries this elixir of life has spread worldwide.

Kombucha is not really a mushroom or a fungus. It’s really bacteria and yeast working together to form a culture that looks like a spongy pancake.

What does Kombucha do for you? Let’s start with the detoxification, aiding the body in clearing toxins from the liver. Kombucha also brings balance back into the body systems, creating a better acid and alkaline balance.

Our digestion is aided by the probiotic qualities of Kombucha. We need our healthy flora to digest, and Kombucha does not interfere with that process. Kombucha even restores our metabolic balance.

Can we improve our health through something as simple as drinking Kombucha tea? Many believe so, and conditions like acne and rheumatoid arthritis have responded to this simple drink. Studies continue around the world into the benefits of Kombucha for ailments as serious as cancer.

Nothing could be easier than adding a little Kombucha into your daily diet. Even our pets health can improve too, and many pets drink this elixir quickly once they feel the restoring benefits. Over time one thing is for sure, Kombucha tea continues to be a healthy, nutritious beverage.

Osteoarthritis is an extremely painful form of arthritis in the joints. There are prescription medications available to help sufferers cope. There are also natural medicines used to reduce the severity of the pain. However, as of right now there is no cure. One of the best ways to deal with osteoarthritis is to make changes in your life that can diminish the affects of the disease.

Exercise

Regular exercise is the most effective method to help in osteoarthritis pain relief. If you stretch your muscles and build up your muscular strength, it will automatically lead to stronger joints, and the stress level on the joints is then reduced. The doctor should be consulted in order to determine which exercises will help in a particular condition.

Strength training and stretching is the key. Water exercises, such as water aerobics or swimming are always a good choice. Resistance training is also very helpful. You can use exercise machines, weights or bands for this. There are a variety of other exercises that can be done like cycling, walking and aerobics.

Be Considerate of Your Joints

Consider your affected joints in your daily activity. If you suffer from osteoarthritis in your knees avoid activities that put a lot of strain on the knees. Taking special care of the affected joints will help reduce the severity of your pain. When you are required to do some activities that put strain on your affected joints get plenty of rest afterward and allow that joint to fully recover.

Other Therapeutic Options

Alternating between hot presses and cold presses can offer great relief for osteoarthritis pain in your joints. If you are experiencing a flare up try a heating pad and then follow up with an ice pack. This is a method used by many athletic people to sooth joint pain. If you have advanced osteoarthritis more will be needed to relieve your pain.

Medication

For severe osteoarthritis sufferers prescription anti-inflammatory medications such as Celebrex have been used to relieve pain. These can completely relieve all osteoarthritis pain. However, there are serious side effects. In 2004 some of these medications were pulled because they were proven to cause strokes and heart attacks. Another option is a milder anti-inflammatory medication that contains no steroids. However, these can not offer 100% relief from the pain that osteoarthritis sufferers experience.

It would be in your best interests to visit your doctor for a check-up if you have noticed that there is aching in your joints, physical changes occurring in the joints, or if your joints are becoming overly stiff or deformed. These symptoms could indicate that you have contracted rheumatoid arthritis. Problems with the endocrine glands, malnutrition problems, and infections are also warning signs for rheumatoid arthritis. This illness can make it difficult for you to carry out some simple everyday activities.

Poisons and Viruses: Possible Causes

Some poisons, viruses, and bacterial toxins have also been noted as causes of the development of rheumatoid arthritis. This can be true even if the fluids of the joints do not contain germs or pus.

Other reasons why a person can develop this condition are emotional or physical shock; injuries and fatigue and even because of having been exposed to dampness and cold weather. What’s more, women are the more likely to suffer from rheumatoid arthritis as compared to men.

Rheumatoid arthritis is commonly believed to begin soon after childhood years have been completed and just prior to reaching the forties. There are however, also few cases when the disease affects people in their sixties and seventies ??” and, the disease (whichever age it begins in) is slow to develop and not a sudden occurrence. To begin with, patients that are developing rheumatoid arthritis will start to experience low fever, weakened state in all parts of the body as well as will experience headaches.

The knees and fingers are the first joints to be affected by rheumatoid arthritis. Following them are the shoulders and wrists and then the elbows and ankles. Rheumatoid arthritis affects the joints before it begins bring about symptoms related to any other body parts. In some situations, all of the joints of the body will be attacked by this disease, resulting in inflammation and an aching feeling that can be anywhere from mild to severe.

Rheumatoid arthritis is also quite serious because of its ability to cause deformities to the body. These occur because of atrophy in the muscles and tendons that forces them to contract. This makes the muscles and tendons bend in unnatural ways, forming deformities.

Children six years of age and younger can also develop juvenile rheumatoid arthritis. One early symptom of this illness is a high fever.

by Jennifer King

Rheumatoid Arthritis is an auto immune disease, which is characterized by inflammation in the lining of the joints and only affects 1 to 2 percent of the population. This disease often begins with middle aged individuals and is more common in women than men. In saying this, children and young adults can also suffer from this disease.

Be that as it may, one thing is for sure, and that is rheumatoid arthritis is an autoimmune disease where the body’s own immune system attacks itself. Though medical knowledge till now is rather limited about the abnormal immune system response, it has at least been established that cells of the immune system travel freely all over the body. The result is a non-localized disease which can affect a number of parts of the body. What starts of as a symptom in one joint of the body soon spreads to a number of joints. Instances of sudden inflammation and pain in different joints simultaneously are not uncommon though.

Some research concerning the early symptoms of rheumatoid arthritis has been done in hopes of finding early warning signs of the disease in the bloodstream. As the disease progresses, rheumatoid arthritis symptoms sometimes worsen to the point of joint deformity.

You may often experience significant stiffness in the morning, in and around the joints, lasting for more than thirty minutes. The joints in the fingers are the most commonly affected, and they suffer from swelling that is painful, and also prevents free movement of the hands. A warm feeling can also be felt in the affected joints. Rheumatoid arthritis can affect many other joints, such as the jaw, elbows, shoulders, feet and ankles.

Inflammation around the heart and lungs is a less common symptom of arthritis. Other areas of the body that can suffer from inflammation are the tear and salivary glands. While the early symptoms of rheumatoid arthritis are confined to the joints, other systems of the body can also be affected, particularly if it is not treated.

Because the immune system is to blame for the symptoms it doesn’t matter if the joints are weight bearing or not, they can all be affected. Also, it usually affects the smaller joints like the elbows, hands, wrists and feet. But there are quite a few exceptions to this.

Rheumatoid arthritis symptoms typically come and go, sometimes over a person’s entire life span. The symptoms can be sever in worst cases, but they can also be mild top moderate. Depending on the severity of the disease and its symptoms, these will determine what you are prescribed.

There are no known adverse reactions or side effects attributed to Celdrin, it is by all reports extremely safe. With more than 100 million Celadrin pills prescribed, there have been no reports of bad side effects. A sample that large is significant.

It is reported that Celadrin to have very few bad side effects. More than 100 million Celadrin pills have been prescribed during this writing, so it is very significant to recognize that there have been no bad side effects with this kind of distribution.

In the realm of natural supplements, Celadrin is unique, in part because it has been subjected to clinical trials. Celadrin has been tested in clinical trials, and there it has been shown to slow or sometimes even stop joint and cartilage inflammation that can cause diseases like arthritis. Cedarin was shown in tests to be the most effective at supporting joints when used with similar supplements such as chondroitin and glucosomine.

Celadrin is completely natural, a crucial factor for people with complicated medical issues or those taking a multiple of medications. The way Celadrin works is by supporting the fluid pockets which naturally cushion healthy joints. The horrible pain that you feel may have been caused by the fluids being decreased or worn down and the joints rubbing against one another. Celadrin has shown to provide relief to deep muscle and tissue injuries.

People who suffer from arthritic or painful joints report their pain to be on a similar scale to that of others who have bulging disks in their backs because the vertebrae are rubbing together causing pain when the normal fluid pocket between those vertebrae has leaked out or decreased.

Oral and topical forms are available for the use of Celadrin. The product is purchasable in different forms including tablets and soft gels. In the most common form, it is available as a cream. 30 minutes after the application various patients reported feeling significant relief using Celadrin cream on their aches and pains. Celadrin is helpful in reducing inflammation according to clinical studies. Patients can get the same healing benefit with whatever works for them, that would be with oral or topical formulations, as this shows its equally effective, this is what the studies are showing.

Celadrin has demonstrated effects of decreased inflammation, cushioning of joints, as well as promoting cartilage repair and quick recovery. For people who suffer from joint, muscle, or tendon pain, the good effects of Celadrin make it something to look into.

Heart diseases and arthritis are the two most common health hazards that cause disability to a person. Among the myriads of diseases arthritis is in the second place as long as the disability ratio I concerned. So it’s a serious health problem for common people, need no telling.

There are some common measures to take for arthritis management. Among them one of the most effective therapies is acupuncture. It’s getting more and more popular among the patients because of its pain relieving capability and less side effects. However, some patient may experience bleeding disorder and allergy like health issues.

A patient suffering from arthritis needs to take adequate rest. Only rest can guarantee him some comfort. If the body gets proper rest and the affected joints are relaxed the painful joints give some sort of relief. Therefore, rest is one of the major treatments in arthritis management.

Then again, everyone needs to have some knowledge about arthritis management. This is such a common disease that eventually most of us either fall victim to this disease or meet a family member or relative who is suffering from arthritis. So staying aware of the disease, its causes and managements will always prove handy.

Arthritis affects the foot, to be more precise the knee joints on most of the occasions. And it starts with the symptom like usual sensation of discomfort in the foot. Pain and stiffness of the joins can be followed by the first symptoms soon. So, any abnormal feeling or discomfort should be taken with care.

Among the most popular natural treatment of arthritis is applying an olive oil massage. However, it should be taken carefully so that excess pressure or force isn’t applied to the joint. Olive oil has the ability to benefit arthritis patients as they relieve the patients from pain and comfort them. Olive oil has been being used in arthritis management for centuries.

And if you are looking for drugs there are some effective one in the market as well. Any physician will be prescribing those drags when needed. Acetaminophen group is one of those drugs that have been proved to be really effective in pain relieving and improving arthritis condition.

Arthritis is more common in men than in women. Those who have an age of 45 or above are most prone to arthritis. And for women the risk increases after 50 or 55 or after the occurrence of menopause.

The simple answer is yes, well not for all, but for many, Yes nettles really can offer some relief from the pain and inflammation . Nettles have been used for thousands of years in one form or another for there healing properties. In the case osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis many plants and natural substances exist that that are known to aid joint pain and inflammation, with the most extreme probably being the common Stinging Nettle.

There is some science behind this age old folklore. Recent studies carried out at the University of Plymouth UK, offer some scientific proof that this ancient remedy does actually work.

27 Arthritic volunteers at the University of Plymouth underwent treatments consisting of stinging nettle leaves being applied to the hands daily for a week. The results were then compared to the effect of a placebo, namely, the white deadnettle leaf, (which does not sting), also applied one week. The research indicated that stinging nettles not only significantly reduced pain, but they also diminish the level of remaining pain

Why Does It Work

The theory is, the chemicals contained in the plants leaf, as well as causing a sting, trigger anti-inflammatory action by the body and so relieve arthritis Pain relief was most likely to occur if a sting with nettle rash was produced on the skin.

This is an ancient folklore, that seems to work for many people all over the world. The stinging nettle is a freely available plant which grows in may countries around the world and its sting seems a safe treatment.

How to Treat Your Arthritis Using The Stinging Nettle Treatment

Quite simple really, the best and the traditional way to treat your arthritis with stinging nettles is to grasp the plants stem with a gloved hand and then thrash the affected joint with the leaves until nettle rash appears, repeat for all affected joints, in most cases this will help reduce the pain and swelling quickly for a short period of time.

So yes, the simple answer is stinging nettles can help and proof does exist to back this up, nettles can indeed offer some short term relief, however the thought of thrashing yourself with them may not be one to relish. well the good news is, you don’t have to, you see nature has provided us with many long and short term answers for most types of arthritis and there are easier and far less abrasive ways of reducing your pain and inflammation believe me.
